I had reached a point where I knew I wanted results and was willing to get some assistance to do it; and asking for help is not my M.O. I’m thankful for the opportunity to work with a Train Better Personal Trainer. Back problems have often kept me from committing to any program. Having a history of back problems and surgery was no obstacle for my trainer. My workouts are tailored to my abilities. While he is aware of my limits, he always pushes me to my full extent. I’ve already lost a couple of sizes and over twenty pounds in a few short months. I’m well on my way to a healthier, stronger me. My trainer’s encouragement and insistence on expecting more from me is changing my inner dialogue. The other day I jogged five miles. While that may not seem like a big deal, a few months ago I couldn’t run more than a couple of minutes at a time. Learning what my body is capable of is eye opening. I had tried just about every diet and weight loss gimmick and been to several of the largest weight loss centers. After thousands of dollars and a trip to the ER in December 2012, I was referred to my Train Better trainer. He has been the most consistent, and the most knowledgeable trainer that I have ever worked with concerning nutrition and health. He is a straight shooter and will tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear. He doesn’t make you feel bad for being over weight, he shows you a better way to live and to eat. The greatest thing he told me was “I can’t do it for you…Joel if you don’t want it then there’s nothing I can do for you.” That has stayed with me over the past 6 months and has caused me to change the way I think about me. My trainer understands the body and how it works. He understands that there are no cookie cutter cases and he customizes the workout plan for you. I could not have done it without the dedication of a trainer like my Train Better trainer. I would recommend him to anyone who is fed up with weight loss gimmicks. He is the real deal!!
Weight loss has always been a struggle for me and even more challenging was keeping the weight off. My trainer was a great motivation to help me kick start my exercise regimen and always had new ways to help me stay on track to reach my weight loss and fitness goals. It was easy to develop a workout plan and be inspired to complete it when I had such an encouraging trainer to help along the way. My trainer is truly amazing. Although he is versatile and I’ve seen him work with several different body types with different fitness goals, my goal was to lose weight. My trainer was a heavier person himself at one time, and he knew how to make me shed pounds. He sent me e-mails on healthy meals (how to make them, when to eat them, which ingredients to buy), and set up a workout routine for me specifically. He also helped me pick out a heart rate monitor to make sure my cardio workouts were as efficient and effective as possible. He has a great personality and will make your workouts fun even though they are intense and challenging. He will give you motivation when you want it, and a break when you need it. He is concerned about your well being and is careful not to let you injure yourself during a workout. I’ve known many personal trainers and my Train Better trainer is really the best of the best.

My wife and I have been working with Train Better for a few weeks. Our energy is up and I have lost ten pounds this month alone!
I was very lucky the day I met my Train Better trainer. I lost 45 lbs and went from a body fat percentage in the obese range (38%) to one that was better than optimal (22%). I also improved my cardiovascular health significantly going from being in the bottom 10th percentile to being in the top 30th percentile for my age and gender. I now truly enjoy (and actually need) a good workout. Although I know I played a very important role in my transition I can confidently say that I could not have achieved all that I achieved without my Train Better trainer. From the moment he met me he had an intuitive sense about what I would need to keep steadily working towards my goal. My experience with my trainer: My journey began with simply wanting to lose weight before my wedding day. At that time, the only thing that mattered was fitting into the dress. I enlisted the help of a Train Better personal trainer to teach me the basics. I had previously participated in group fitness classes, but did not believe that I had the correct technique and was concerned about my prior injuries. Every session with my Train Better trainer, would entail a newly created and challenging routine for me to follow in which my trainer completed every last set along side of me. This made me feel comfortable as she did not expect me to push myself beyond what she was capable of doing as well. She would provide me with a written copy of her workout and teach me exactly what area each task was targeting so that I became the expert. My Train Better trainer developed weight-loss goals that were safe, realistic, and specific to my body type. My trainer went beyond my expectations to provide me with numerous healthy recipes that were delicious and easy to make. She inspired me to change my eating habits and held me accountable by having me record in a food journal. More importantly, she encouraged me to adopt a healthy lifestyle by making better choices for myself and my family that would remain even after the wedding. She instilled in me a sense of health and fitness that became much more important that the size of dress. My trainer became much more than a personal trainer, she became my life coach.
